Conley Tunnell, President/CEO



Conley has been active in Oklahoma children's services for over 30 years. He has served as the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services Assistant Director and the Division Director for Children and Families, as well as the Director of Residential Treatment for Dillon Youth Services. He has twice served as a Commissioner for the Oklahoma Commission for Children and Youth.

Additionally, Conley served as a Trainer for the National InterAgency Counterdrug Institute, training community teams, DEA, FBI, and ATF agents on Drug Demand Reduction, both in North America and South America. He has been a faculty member of the National Juvenile and Family Court Judges Association and keynote speaker for the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs and a trainer for Child Welfare League of America.


David Peters, LCSW, Executive Director

David has over 35 years of clinical experience in both mental health and substance abuse treatment. His focus has primarily been working with children and families. 

His experiences include adolescent inpatient treatment at Hillcrest Medical Center, serving as Director of Treatment for Eagle Ridge Institute statewide, developing and running a residential treatment program in New Hampshire and working in wilderness treatment in Utah. David also was in private practice in Tulsa for 7 years. Prior to helping start Daybreak Family Services in 2008, David left the country to work at a treatment program on the island of Samoa in the South Pacific. He is a graduate of George Warren Brown school of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.

Melanie Morgan, LCSW, Senior Director

Melanie received her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma.  

Prior to helping start Daybreak Family Services in 2008, she worked primarily with adults with mental health and substance abuse issues at Brookhaven Hospital and 12 & 12 substance abuse treatment center in Tulsa. She also has experience working with children and adolescents in the public school system.

She currently supervises all clinical staff and assists in managing and developing the home and school based programs.  She provides support and training to all staff on the electronic medical records system and makes great effort to ensure the records and the agency are in compliance with Joint Commission and OHCA standards.

Alexia Lamb, Office Manager

Alexia received her Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry with a specialization in Non-Profit Management from Johnson University. She has experience in administrative and customer service. She brings with her a passion for helping people and the community. 

Alexia is currently pursuing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and plans to become a therapist after graduation.

Kacy DuVall LPC, SHRM-CP Human Resources Director


Kacy received her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Oklahoma State University.

She has a background working at Family and Children's Services as an Intake and Appointment Coordinator. She started with Daybreak as an intern and a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist in 2010. She eventually became a therapist and has experience in working primarily with families, children and adolescents in the home and in the school setting. She became the Human Resources Manager for Daybreak Family Services in July 2015. Kacy earned her Certified Professional certification through SHRM (The Society for Human Resource Management) in 2018. 

Rebekah Taylor, Administrative Assistant

Rebekah started with Daybreak as the Receptionist in September 2015. She was promoted to Administrative Assistant in January 2016. 

She has an administrative background and has worked in the field for the past several years. 

Dena Vetters, Receptionist

Dena joined Daybreak as the receptionist in August 2018. In 2014, she graduated Oklahoma State University  with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science, specializing in Child and Family Services. Prior to Daybreak, Dena has worked primarily within the Early Childhood Education Field, but also works as a Hairstylist for fun. Dena aspires to help people become their best selves in whatever capacity she's  able to. She hopes to complete her Master’s and grow into a licensed therapist.
